A Day in the Life

Lead the Marketing strategy and execution of programs, leading new future product and business model deployment for the DACH region. Support and co-ordinate the activities of the country marketing managers and team to increase market share gains by meeting the key objectives. Lead and support the regional team to deploy the transformation initiatives, positively influencing adoption of processes and services and being the main contact between EMEA and the region for deployment, measurement tracking and achieving the KPI’s. Take responsibility for the overall DACH regional marketing P&L including working closely with the DACH Sr Director to ensure a profitable return on investment of programs, services, product pricing and placement.

  • Partner closely with both the regional and European central educational, clinical and sales teams, in developing and implementing local, tactical marketing and sales support activities. Work cross functionally and contributes to an innovative and inspiring work environment, developing talent and cross regional collaboration.

  • Customer and patient experience will drive the success of our marketing function and contribute to the business success. To drive this the role will involve taking accountability for the NPS and as such work with the country marketing, education leads and functional leads to drive actions that can improve patient, HCPs experience with Medtronic.

  • Lead the Diabetes customer centric transformation as guided by the strategy and programs at EMEA level to articulate and lead the execution for the DACH region.

  • Lead the market access strategy to increase market opportunity and share for Medtronic therapies and services.

Main Responsibilities :

  • Plan and coordinate the development and implementation of both tactical and strategic region-wide marketing campaigns in cooperation with the marketing teams.

  • Drive localization and country implementation ensuring long range plans are linked to fiscal performance goals, corporate objectives and reach financial targets.

  • Work closely with country and global marketing and sales partners, develop and execute differentiated and impactful competitive strategy.

  • Represent the DACH region as a partner with the European and Global marketing team to ensure regional market needs are incorporated into global marketing plan.

  • Participate in the design of yearly Marketing Plans.

  • Marketing Research & Sales Analysis - Initiate, manage and summarize market research and studies to determine customer beliefs and advise of relevant market trends.

  • Analyse the market, competition, environment, sales and marketing strategies. Proactively act as an agent for change to adapt to external / internal change factors.

  • Work and align with relevant stakeholders to define pricing strategies, market introductions and the development and implementation of all related marketing programs.

  • Define and deliver innovative product promotional campaigns supporting global brand guidance. Ensure that collateral reflects the needs in the countries and that it is clearly used in the field.

  • Participate in training of personnel, securing the implementation of marketing programs.

  • Customer Relationships - Meet with customers to discuss market, products, trends or needs and obtain their input. Strengthen customer focused partnerships through Medtronic exclusive initiatives i.e. advisory boards, focus groups etc.

  • Direct line people management, including cross matrix people influence. Grows and develop talent for the short- and long-term business needs according to market changes

  • Champions diversity and inclusion initiatives.

  • Identify business growth opportunities and unmet customer requirements and provide vision and focus to move ideas to marketplace.

  • Monthly supply and demand forecast input and plan for complete portfolio.

  • Clinical - Working with business unit and countries to ensure clinical investigators selected maximize customer relationships while meeting clinical needs.

  • Review campaign progress against budget and metrics on on-going basis and revise plans and institute corrective action as appropriate.

  • Support or lead Congress multi-functional team.

  • Ensure regulatory requirements are met.

  • Assess patient pathway and recommend best target audience for sales and marketing programs as well as best sales channel to serve this target audience.

Must Haves :

  • Bachelor´s degree in Marketing or similar science required

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience

  • Fluent in German and English

  • High motivation, enthusiastic and constructive attitude, being able to implement and develop changes, lives change management

  • Used to work independently and proactively with a high level of management skills

  • Demonstrated strong strategic thinking skills

  • Strong team player and proven ability to collaborate in a cross-functional and cross-country environment

  • Experience in managing, directly or indirectly a complexed regional geographical marketing remit with different countries, different healthcare structures and different health care economical environments.

  • Experience with managing directly cross-cultural geographical teams

  • Strong people and team management skills

  • Strong financial acumen with a proficient understanding of P&L management

  • Experience in deploying new commercial models

  • Creative, methodical can-do attitude.

  • Project management experience and change management

  • Willingness to travel 50%
