Medtronic Process Engineer I (2-year contract) in Tolochenaz, Switzerland

For our Development department that industrialize active medical devices, we are looking for a new Process Engineer.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Supports the innovation, development and/or optimization of new manufacturing concepts, processes and procedures for transfer to manufacturing operations.

  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques including the measurement systems.

  • Interacts with product design and development personnel to ensure that processes and designs are compatible.

  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

  • Recommends and implements equipment and process modifications to meet quality standards and improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques as well as production yields for existing products.

  • Helps to review product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and schedules.

  • Provides technical and sustaining engineering support in a manufacturing area.

  • Integrates equipment and material capabilities to meet process module target specifications and technology target specifications.

  • Participates to scouting and feasibility work, material selection, process and equipment selection, tooling / fixture and equipment installation and assessment of inputs, outputs and alignment to requirements.

Requirements

  • Engineering Master degree with 6 months of experience or equivalent

  • Fluent in English and French

  • Project management skills a plus

  • Knowledge in medical device assembly, microfluidic and surface treatment a plus

  • Works independently with general supervision on larger, moderately complex projects / assignments

  • Rigorous, proactive, flexible, results oriented and motivated by achievement

  • Good communication skills to operate in multicultural environment and cross-geographies teams and to interact and influence at various levels within the organization

  • Autonomous, contribute to others’ success beyond own expertise and organization

  • Decision making abilities
