Key functional individual responsible for leading Operations Sourcing for the Mexico Operations Sourcing manufacturing in 4 sites (Nellcor, El Lago, Empalme, and Juarez). He / She has responsibility for the management, identification, implementation and alignment of global sourcing strategies, initiatives, supply assurance, risk mitigation, sourcing continuous improvement and productivity programs as well as global supplier network capabilities for commodity materials to achieve business objectives. He/She has responsibility for providing leadership and direction for the development and implementation of effective global cross divisional category strategies that are aligned with OU, Platform, and Operations objectives for service, quality, risk mitigation, performance and leverage opportunities across divisions, functions, and geographies. Identifies metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, efficiencies, and works collaboratively with stakeholders to prioritize and drive implementation. He / She works collaboratively with the Category Management team to support development / implementation / deployment of material strategies to achieve Business and Operational objectives. He / She has responsibility in collaboration with Execution and Enablement for sourcing process and system standardization for Operations and the respective manufacturing facilities. Identifies metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, efficiencies, and works collaboratively with stakeholders to prioritize and drive implementation.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

· Leads Mexico Ops Sourcing Team in developing sourcing strategies/programs for materials where standardization/aggregation will yield process improvement and drive functional excellence.

· Drives strategic sourcing strategies, initiatives, supply assurance, risk mitigation, sourcing continuous improvement and productivity improvement programs across the Operations business unit.

· Establishes and deploys Execution and Enablement best practices throughout the Business while aligning with key business unit initiatives.

· Establishes raw material standards and supports implementation / deployment of strategies and productivity improvement programs to achieve Business and Operations objectives.

· Drives industry best practices and provides leadership to implement continuous improvement within the manufacturing site supply chain.

· Participates in the establishment of strategic and operating plans, budgets, goals and priorities and in formulation of strategies, organizational policies and operating procedures for the respective Business.

· Supports Mexico & MDT Supply Management cross functional teams in developing sourcing strategies/programs for materials where standardization/aggregation will yield significant savings or process improvement.

· Fosters a culture of Continuous Improvement and Lean to drive advancements in the supply base pertaining to Quality, Service, and Performance to support business objectives.

· Improves specific supplier performance improvement plans in areas that impedes our ability to meet our customers’ requirements.

· Implements formal risk mitigation strategies to protect the revenue stream of the business unit.

· Participates in Strategic Supplier Reviews to drive value improvement opportunities across the organization.

· Conducts regular reviews of sourcing programs and ensures best practices are implemented throughout the organization.

· Involved with the recruitment, hiring, management, development, and training of personnel involved in purchasing, site supply management.

· Works collaboratively with manufacturing facilities to ensure availability of raw materials and supplies required for ongoing production and for new product development when required.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience

Nice to Have

· BS/BA Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, or Engineering

· Project Management and Six-Sigma Methodologies

· CPIM, CPSM, or C.P.M. Certification

· Experience with detailed cost models and financial analysis

· Knowledge of e-commerce initiatives

· Knowledge of FDA regulated industries

· Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

· Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

· Excellent communication skills

· Previous experience in a medical device industry

· Previous experience in leadership role within a multi-plant, matrix organization

· Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative/integrative style of working to accomplish objective.

· Proven track record of building credible, reliable, customer focused sources of supply.

· Possesses a decisive goal oriented and priority focus approach.

· Views teamwork and cross functional partnership as a primary means to achieve objectives.

· Demonstrates strong business acumen and a bias for action.
