A Day in the Life

As the Northeastern Distribution Director, you will direct and coordinate all distribution operations for our 430,000 square-foot facility to ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of products providing direction and coordination of all distribution leadership to maintain and improve competitive position and provide world-class service in product delivery promoting continuous improvement of all distribution processes, procedures and systems.

Accelerating performance through your leadership, you will:

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all Logistics and Distribution operations and activities of the Medtronic Northeastern Distribution Operation, managing 4 direct reports and two 3PL ventures.Provide oversight for the site in Louisville, Kentucky.

  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across all aspects of the operation.Drive and support the implementation of the Medtronic Operating System and COS.

  • Provide leadership and direction to departmental management and staff, including employee development, training, and mentoring.Set direction for distribution and logistics strategies in alignment with customer and business requirements.

  • Recruit, develop, manage, and coach all direct reporting employees towards sustainable excellent performance levels and motivation

  • Review and interpret performance against operating plans and standards. Provide direction to management staff on interpretation of results and development of corrective actions and plan modifications.Evaluate cost effectiveness, consistency, quality, accuracy, and performance to standards and act as necessary to correct discrepancies.

  • Develop, execute, and manage the Distribution team budgets, continuously pursue process and system innovation to deliver operating cost improvement.

  • Responsible for the security of NE Distribution site inventory and physical assets.

  • Maintain excellent working relationships with the MDT sales force, internal sales management, customer service, and other key stakeholders within all MDT business units.

  • Assure compliance of the Distribution Operations with company policy, and Federal, state, and local regulations (including FDA, OSHA, Sarbanes Oxley, and AATB standards compliance, among others.)Manage tissue distribution to AATB and FDA standards.

  • Ensure implementation, modification, and maintenance of information systems to support operational activities and departmental functions.

  • Maintain an environment of high ethical standards in compliance with corporate guidelines.

Must-Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant Distribution and Operations experience with 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant Distribution and Operations experience with 7+ years of managerial experience

Nice to Have

  • Broad background and experience in Distribution and Operations technology. In-depth understanding of operations administration functions.

  • Enterprise experience with a demonstrated track record of continuous process and productivity improvement and successful results in developing and implementing change initiatives

  • Excellent leadership, influencing, and mentoring skills.

  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate personnel in the role to balance staffing strengths with profitability and growth.

  • Master’s degree with an emphasis in Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or a related technical field

  • 10+ years of progressive experience working in a world-class supply chain organization with a focus on operational excellence

  • Global enterprise experience with a demonstrated track record of process and productivity improvement and successful results in developing and implementing change initiatives

  • Experience in SAP ERP systems, Supply Chain Management Applications, and other emerging Supply Chain Technologies

  • Strong communication skills, including communication with employees, clients, senior management, and vendors

  • Experience in a highly regulated industry, preferably medical

  • Proven knowledge and discipline around departmental budget planning and execution

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
