In this exciting role you will be responsible for performing the chemistry and biochemistry related activities in a product development environment. You will provide technical leadership to multiple projects for specific clients, including generation of study protocols and review of generated data and reports. You will develop innovative technical solutions to complex problems. The person in this role will also conduct exploratory research to produce new knowledge and potential products; conceives, organizes, promotes, and executes ideas and plans to increase chemistry's role in and contribution to the discovery and chemical approaches to meet exploratory objectives in product discovery.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for performing chemical characterization analysis, analytical method development and validations.

  • Develops research proposals to provide a technically and economically sound basis for developing and evaluating new or improved products, synthetic methods, processes, and analytical and physical testing techniques.

  • Recommends utilization of the results or changes in the scope of work or termination of projects.

  • Applies extensive technical expertise and knowledge of other related disciplines.

  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.

  • Guides the successful completion of major programs and function in technical leadership role.

  • Perform advanced scientific activities using advanced analytical techniques.

  • Prepare and present scientific presentations.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering or other relevant science discipline and 10+ years research, laboratory or other scientific relevant experience.

OR

Advanced Degree in Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering or other relevant science discipline and 8+ years research, laboratory, or other scientific relevant experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience applying numerous chemical analysis techniques to method development and materials or product characterization in an industry setting

  • Experience with analytical techniques (examples include FTIR, UV-Vis, HPLC, GC, spectroscopic techniques, Dissolution)

  • Experience in analytical chemistry.

  • Experience performing laboratory data interpretation including working with mathematical concepts relevant to the laboratory setting.

  • Masters Degree or higher in Biochemistry, Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.

  • Experience with HPLC, GC, IC, spectroscopic techniques, Dissolution.

  • Experience in healthcare industry.

  • Experience in insulin chemistry laboratory.

  • Strong hands-on problem solving ability.

  • Exceptional commitment to working in a collaborative and dynamic research field.

  • Strong time management and prioritization skills are required for management of multiple projects.

The provided base salary range is used nationally in the United States (except in Puerto Rico and certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
