As a Principal R&D Engineer of the MEIC, you will collaborate with the product development teams globally. You will be working with Surgical Instrument CoE group wherein you will be involving on Design, CAD Robust Modelling , Drawings with strong GD&T application, Tolerance Stack up analysis, Test Fixtures Design , Prototype Building and applying your knowledge on medical devices/products.

Expectation and Responsibilities:

  1. Recognized expert in managing large projects or processes and should associate with success stories of delivering larger milestones.

  2. 6+ Years Relevant experience on providing project leadership on end to end product development cycle.

  3. Extensive experience with highly strong proven record on creating Solid and Surface Models, Assemblies, Creo Mechanism, Creo Simulation and Windchill.

  4. 10+ Years of Experience in GD&T with proven record of accomplishing effectiveness and value addition .

  5. Experienced in performing Complex Tolerance Stack Analyses (Excel, CeTol 6σ, Monte Carlo simulations)

  6. Strong Proven record of developing Body of Evidence by Analytical Study and by Prediction Tools ( Ansys).

  7. Expected to have extensive technical knowledge and expertise in Six Sigma Practices such as Design of Experiments, Measurement system Analysis, Test Method Development, Root Cause Analysis, Capability studies, Fixture Qualification, Should be well-versed in verification and validation methodologies, industry standards, and best practices.

  8. Seasoned experience in solving complex and undefined problems and issues which require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation.

  9. Strong proven record of converting design ideas into working prototypes and then into implementation.

  10. Work closely with global cross-functional teams, including design engineers, design managers, project managers, and quality assurance teams, to ensure seamless integration from concept through commercialization.

  11. Be creative and apply solid mechanical engineering design skills while following design controls to develop new medical devices.

  12. Represents organization as a primary contact for specific projects and initiatives; communicates with internal and external customers and vendors at various levels.

  13. Strong negotiation skills to negotiate with others to reach understanding or agreement, and influence decision-making.

  14. Strong experience on providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area.

  15. Extensive experience on managing major / moderately complex projects, involving delegation of work and review of work products, at times acting as a team leader

  16. Requires mastery of a specialty area and full knowledge of industry practices, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

  17. May have broad knowledge of project management

  18. Interacts with contract services (design and manufacturing), materials suppliers, participates in DFM and DFA processes to access component and assembly manufacturability

Must Have :

  1. Bachelor’s / Master Degree in Mechnaical Engineering with minimum 15 years of design experience.

  2. Six Sigma Green Belt Certification

  3. Professional Certifcation on GD&T (ASME or Equivalent)

  4. Outstanding Communication ; Ability to articulate fluently and concisely.

  5. Well versed in component manufacturing processes (Plastic injection molding, Extrusion, Metal injection molding, Sheet metal stamping, Machining, Powdered metal)
