We are searching for a dynamic and collaborative Senior Manager Communications -- a key member of the Medtronic Foundation team -- who will act as a strategic partner to deliver integrated communications strategies and execution to enhance the impact of the Medtronic Foundation for a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

This is a hybrid role located in Minneapolis with key stakeholders in and around the Minneapolis area. We will prioritize talent over location. Qualified remote candidates are encouraged to apply.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. This role will have oversight for internal and external communications.

• In partnership with the Foundation President and leadership team, develop and deliver an integrated communications strategy to enable the strategic impact and achievement of the Medtronic Foundation’s goals and objectives

• Ensure that all communications activities are anchored in a strategic plan built on objectives, strategies, tactics and audiences, and informed by data

• Leveraging data and metrics, provide critical insights on the impact of the communications on the stated goals and adjust or modify based on these insights

• Provide enterprise-wide communications that inspire Medtronic employees to engage and actively participate in opportunities to positively impact their communities through the support of the Foundation

• Through close partnership and collaboration with the Program leaders, ensure appropriate strategies are in place to amplify the impact of the work of the Foundation

• Provide leadership, guidance and coaching to communications team members as appropriate to deliver on the integrated communications strategy.

• Engage across internal and external stakeholders to ensure a global approach and resonance with a global audience as appropriate.

• Serve as a connection back to the Global Communications and Corporate Marketing (GCCM) Impact Communications team to ensure connection opportunities are identified and implemented and that the Foundation communications strategy aligns back to GCCM priority audiences as appropriate .

• Support executive communications and thought leadership opportunities for the President of the Medtronic Foundation, in partnership with Global Communications and Corporate Marketing partners (speaking opportunities, media, etc.)

• Manage the strategy for social content channels and partner with the Sr. Communications Specialist, Medtronic Foundation to implement the strategy.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum of 7 years progressive corporate or agency communications experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant communications experience with 5+ years of managerial experience

Nice to Have

• Advanced degree in communications, public relations, journalism, scientific communications or marketing

• Experience in and passion for strategic communications – ability to connect the dots across distinct projects and be seen as both strategic advisor and excellent doer

• Proven ability to navigate and work effectively across a global matrixed organization

• Strong business acumen

• Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and multi-task while quickly prioritizing projects and communicating priorities to stakeholders

• Proven track record developing and executing integrated communications strategies for internal and external audiences

• Ability to achieve results through teams, exerting influence without

• People & project management skills and ability to effectively prioritize

The provided base salary range is used nationally in the United States (except in Puerto Rico and certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
