This position has the responsibility for providing direct legal administrative support to the Senior Director Global Privacy Operations and other Data Privacy teams as needed. The position involves a broad range of responsibilities including document management, drafting legal communications, managing data privacy requests, and executing various legal administrative duties. This role requires an individual who is detailed-oriented, resourceful, capable of managing multiple tasks effectively under pressure while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. The position requires a candidate who can perform complex and diverse administrative duties independently, many working to execute legal directions. It therefore requires an experienced, organized, proactive individual who acts with considerable judgment and is confident in his/her abilities. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure will be critical to success in this role, as well solid organizational and prioritization abilities.

This position reports to the Senior Director Global Privacy Operations. This position will be located ideally in the Minneapolis office of Medtronic.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Documentation management: prepare, edit, proofread, and finalize legal documents ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards. Maintain an organized filing system for legal documents and contracts, such as executed data transfer agreements to ensure all records are kept in compliance with legal requirements.

  • Draft a variety of documents, including legal briefs, memos, organizational announcements, and presentations in PowerPoint. Ensure all documents and presentations are clear, accurate, and uphold Medtronic standards of professionalism.

  • Triage and track data subject rights requests and assign them to the appropriate regional data privacy teams for fulfillment.

  • Manage the data privacy knowledge and research tools. Periodically access the tools and share learnings with the rest of the team.

  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding processes for new employees. This includes scheduling interviews, preparing onboarding materials, coordinate all the necessary HR and IT related tasks and facilitating the integration of new hires into the team.

  • Provide vendor management support by managing contract approvals, purchase order creation and invoice support.

  • Perform various administrative duties including working in various Medtronic systems, making travel arrangements, Internet/Intranet research, scheduling and coordinating meetings, managing calendars, assist in the development and management of the department’s budgets and preparing expense reports.

  • Manage confidential information.

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Travel requirement: Less than 10%.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with 6+ years administrative support experience, with at least 6 years in a legal or compliance environment

Nice to Have

  • Proficient in legal and data privacy terminology

  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills

  • Associate degree or higher in Legal studies, Business Administration or related field.

  • Substantial word processing skills and advanced PowerPoint skills

  • High Level of proficiency with MS Office Suite

  • Ability to maintain composure in high demand situations.

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work accurately under pressure of deadlines with frequent interruptions.

  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

  • Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment, and discretion.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently, and to adapt to changing priorities.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
